Το παράρτημα Ολλανδίας της Διεθνούς Εταιρείας Φίλων Νίκου Καζαντζάκη, σε συνεργασία με το τμήμα Νεοελληνικών Σπουδών του Πανεπιστημίου του Άμστερνταμ και το Γραφείο Τύπου και Επικοινωνίας της Πρεσβείας της Ελλάδος στη Χάγη, σας προσκαλεί την Πέμπτη  26  Σεπτεμβρίου 2013, στις 7 μ.μ., στη διάλεξη που διοργανώνει, με θέμα «Η επικαιρότητα της σκέψης του Νίκου Καζαντζάκη».

Ομιλητής θα είναι ο κ. Γεώργιος Στασινάκης, Πρόεδρος της Συντονιστικής Επιτροπής της Διεθνούς Εταιρείας Φίλων Νίκου Καζαντζάκη, Πρεσβευτής Ελληνισμού, Ιππότης του Εθνικού Τάγματος Αξίας της Γαλλικής Δημοκρατίας .

Μετά το τέλος της διάλεξης θα ακολουθήσει συζήτηση και η βραδιά θα κλείσει με ελληνικά εδέσματα και κρασιά.

Olympolis Art Project

2-5/8/2013 Olympos Greece

Στις 2 Αυγούστου του 1913, λίγους μήνες μετά την απελευθέρωση της βόρειας Ελλάδας από την Οθωμανική αυτοκρατορία, δυο φιλέλληνες Ελβετοι, ο πρωτοπόρος φωτογράφος Fred Boissonas και o κριτικός τέχνης και πρύτανης της σχολής καλών τεχνών της Γενεύης Daniel Βaudbovy, με την καθοδήγηση του ντόπιου κυνηγού Χρήστου Κάκκαλου ύστερα από πολλές προσπάθειες κατάφεραν να αναρχηθούν στην ψηλότερη κορυφή του Ολύμπου και της Ελλάδας στα 3000 μέτρα.

Φέτος, 100 χρόνια μετά, μια ομάδα τοπικών ενεργών πολιτών και καλλιτεχνών δημιουργεί χωρίς αρχικό μπάτζετ ένα φεστιβάλ τεχνών, μουσικής, ιδεών και γαστρονομία στο διεθνές ίδρυμα Μέγας Αλέξανδρος και στο Περιβαλλοντικό Πάρκο Λιττοχωρου στους πρόποδες Ολύμπου.

Στόχος είναι η ανάδειξη του θεϊκού βουνού σαν παγκόσμιο τουριστικό προορισμό, η καλλιτεχνικη δημιουργία, η συνέυρεση ανθρώπων καθώς και η ανταλλαγή απόψεων και ιδεών σε περιβαλλοντικά και κοινωνικά ζητήματα.

Το βασικότερο όμως είναι η μετάδοση ενός αισιόδοξου μηνύματος ότι παρα τα τόσα οικονομικά προβλήματα που ταλαιπωρούν την Ελλάδα τα τελευταία χρόνια υπάρχει μια φλόγα που μπορεί να φωτίσει της καρδιές των ανθρώπων και να ενισχύσει την επιθυμία τους να φτάσουν στην κορυφή. 

Στο διάστημα 2 με 5 Αυγούστου 2013 λοιπόν παρουσιάζουμε εικαστικές εκθέσεις σύγχρονης και κλασικής τέχνης, μουσικές συναυλίες, γαστονομικές διαδρομές με τοπικά προϊόντα, πανεπιστιμιακές εργασίες, ιστορικά ντοκουμέντα και εκπαιδευτικά προγράμματα για παιδιά που αφορούν στο περιβαλλόν και στην παγκόσμια κουλτούρα.

Όμως, αδιαμφισβήτητα, το κορυφαίο γεγονός που θα παρουσιάσουμε σε παγκόσμια πρεμιέρα είναι το μουσικό θεμα‘’ΟLYMPUS RAPSODY’’διάρκειας 70 λεπτών περίπου, το οποίο εχει συνθέσει και ενορχυστρώσει ο Εddy Κoopman περκασιονίστας της Μetropole Οrkest.

Όταν ο Eddy Koopman μαζί με τον τηλεοπτικο παραγωγο της  εταιριας PRTV, Ρeter Rutting, επισκέφτηκαν την Ελλάδα στα τέλη Μαρτίου για να γνωρίσουν από κοντά τους διοργανωτές, μαγεύτηκαν από την ομορφιά και τη θετική ενέργεια του βουνού, τη φιλοξενία και τη ζεστή διάθεση των κατοίκων. Έτσι αποφάσισαν από κοινού να δημιουργήσουν παράλληλα και ένα ντοκυμαντέρ που θα εξιστορεί όλη την διαδρομή του πρότζεκτ και το αποτέλεσμα αυτής της ελληνοολλανδικής συνεργασίας και φιλίας.

Μέρα με τη μέρα η παρέα μεγάλωσε και έτσι τον Αύγουστο 12 Ολλανδοί πολίτες θα ταξιδέψουν για 10 ημέρες στην Ελλάδα για να εργαστούν εθελοντικά για το Οlympolis art project. Ανάμεσά τους διάσημοι Ολλανδοί μουσικοί της Μetropole Orkest. Οι παραπάνω, υπο την καθοδήγηση του Eddy Koopman και μαζί με 90 περίπου χορωδούς από 3 τοπικές χορωδίες ,την δημοτική πολυτονική ορχήστρα και τοπικούς παραδοσιακούς οργανοπαίκτες θα παρουσιάσουν στις 3 Αυγουστου το αποτέλεσμα της προσπάθειας.

Οι ακτές Ολύμπου στην Πιερία είναι μια πανέμορφη αλλά όχι πολύ διαφημισμένη περιοχή στην βόρεια Ελλαδα. Βρίσκεται απέναντι από την Χαλκιδική, μια ώρα από το αεροδρόμιο της Θεσσαλονίκης και 5 ώρες από την Αθήνα. Την περιοχή διασχίζει το κεντρικό οδικό και σιδηροδρομικό δίκτυο της χώρας. Διαθέτει μεγάλη τουριστική υποδομή από πεντε αστέρων ξενοδοχεία μέχρι κάμπινγκς και παραδοσιακούς ξενώνες. Προσφερεται για ιδιαίτερες διακοπές ολο τον χρονο. Η ακτογραμμή της είναι 80 χιλιόμετρα, φιλοξενεί δυο πάρκα natura, πολλούς αρχοιολογικούς χώρους με σημαντικότερο το Δίον, την ιερή πόλη των Μακεδόνων και του Μεγάλου Αλεξάνδρου, τα Πιέρια Όρη όπου κατά την αρχαιότητα κατοικούσαν οι 9 μούσες- προστατιδες των τεχνων- και ο Ορφέας, το χιονοδρομικό κέντρο, πολλές διαδρομές για ορεινή ποδηλασία, περιβαλλοντική πεζοπορία, αναρίχηση και ορειβασία, παρατήρηση πουλιών, έντονη νυχτερινή διασκέδαση και φυσικά το προστατευόμενο εθνικό πάρκο Ολύμπου- την αιωνια κατοικια των 12 θεων της αρχαιας Ελλάδας.

Την εκδήλωση αγκαλιάζουν η περιφέρεια Κεντρικής Μακεδονίας, ο Ελληνικός Οργανισμός Τουρισμού, ο δήμος Θεσσαλονίκης ως ευρωπαική πρωτεύουσα των νέων για το έτος 2014, και η UNESCO.

Φετος είστε καλεσμένοι είτε σαν θεατές, είτε σαν συμμετέχοντες σε αυτή την παγκόσμια γιορτή δημιουργίας και αισιοδοξίας στο μέρος που μπήκαν οι βάσεις του νεότερου δυτικού πολιτισμού για να τιμήσουμε το σύμβολο της καθαρότητας και της αιώνιας λάμψης, τον ‘Ολυμπο.

At the 2^nd of August 1913, just a few monts after the liberation of Nothernther Greece from the Ottoman Empire, two swiss philhellenists, the avant-garde photographer Fred Boissonas and the art critic and Principal of Geneva University Daniel Baudbovy, after numerous attempts and under the guidance of the native hunter Hristos Kakkalos managed to succesfully ascent to the highest peak of Olympos mountain at an altitude of 3.000m.

This year, 100 years later, a local group of active citizens and artists will organize a festival of arts, music, ideas and gastronomy without any primary budget at the international foundation «Alexander the Great» and at Littohoro park at the foot of Olympos.

The aim of the festival is not only to feature the mountain as world touristic destination, but also the artistic creation, the interaction among people and the exchange of ideas in environmental and social issues.

The most important purpose of the festival is to communicate the hopeful message that despite the economic problems of the last years, there remains some kind of power to reinforce their desire to reach “the top”.

To that end, during 2-5 of August 2013 we will present modern and traditional art exhibitions, concerts, local gastronomy, academic papers, historic documents and environmental and cultural educational activities for kids.

The most important event of the festival is the world premiere of  “Olympus Rapsody”, a piece of 70 minutes composed and orchestrated by Metropole Orkest percussionist Eddy Koopman.

Eddy Koopman along with the television producer from PRTV Peter Rutting inspired by their trip in Greece, the hospitality of native people and the natural beauty, decided to create a documentary about the organization of the project and the results of the Greek-Dutch cooperation.

Gradually, the number of the participants rose. Thus, in August twelve Dutch citizens will travel to Greece for ten days in order to work on a voluntary basis for the Olympolis art project. Among the Dutch participants, there are famous musicians from the Metropole Orkest, who along with almost 90 singers from 3 local choirs, the municipal polytonic orchestra and various local traditional instrumentalists will present, at the 3^rd of August, the result of their effort, under the guidance of Eddy Koopman.

Olympos Riviera in Pieria is a not very famous nevertheless beautiful area in northern Greece. It is opposite from Chalkidiki, one (driving) hour distance from Thessaloniki airport and five hours from Athens. The national road and railway network also crosses the area.  The large touristic infrastructure offers visitors a wide range of holiday accommodation: five star hotels, summer camps, and traditional lodges. Across the 80 km seacoast there are two natural parks and various archeological sites such as “Dion”, the sacred city of Macedonians and of Alexander the Great, Pieria Mountains, where the Nine Muses-the guardians of the arts- lived, according to Greek mythology. The area also hosts a skiing resort, multiple tracks for mountain cycling, climbing, paths for walking, bird watching and intense nigh life. Last but not least, in Pieria one can find the protected national park of Olympos, the “home” of the twelve Olympian Gods.

Olympos art project is sponsored by the region of Western Macedonia, the Greek Tourism Organization, the municipality of Thessaloniki as the European Youth Capital for 2014 and UNESCO.

This year you are welcomed either as visitors or as participants to this international festival of creativity and optimism at the place where the foundations of modern western civilization were set, in order to honor the symbol of clarity and eternal shine, Olympos Mountain. 

Ημέρα της Αρχαίας Ελλάδας στο Museumpark Orientalis

Στις 7 Ιουλίου το Museumpark Orientalis στο Heilig Landstichting (Nijmegen), οργανώνει την ημέρα της Αρχαίας Ελλάδας. Κατα τη διάρκεια της οργάνωσης άνδρες, γυναίκες και παιδιά θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να συμμετέχουν σε διάφορα αθλήματα, όπως ακόντιο και τρέξιμο, προς τιμήν του θεσμού των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων.

Ειδικά για τα παιδιά θα οργανωθούν δραστηριότητες όπου μπορούν να μάθουν το Ελληνικό αλφάβητο και να παίξουν παραδοσιακά Ελληνικά παιχνίδια. 

Τέλος, οι επισκέπτες του open camp θα έχουν τη δυνατότα να δοκιμάσουν ελαφρά ελληνικά φαγητά όπως φρουτοσαλάτες και σαλάτες λαχανικών.

Day of Ancient Greece at Museumpark Orientalis

During Sunday 7 July Museumpark Orientalis at Heilig Landstichting (Nijmegen) will organize the “Day of Ancient Greece”. During the open camp men, women and children will have the chance to participate in various sports practiced at the Olympic Games, such as running, javelin and long jump.

Especially for kids the camp will include activities where they can learn the Greek alphabet and play traditional Greek games.

Finally, the open camp visitors will have the chance to taste fruits and salads.

De dag van het oude Griekenland

Dat doe je ter ere van de goden. Zo ontstonden de Olympische Spelen, bijna 2800 jaar geleden. Ontdek op zondag 7 juli in Museumpark Orientalis de wereld van het Oude Griekenland.

De vierkamp

Op deze dag mogen mannen, vrouwen, jongens en meisjes meedoen aan de belangrijkste sporten, discuswerpen, speerwerpen, hardlopen, speerwerpen en verspringen. Na de vierkamp krijgt elk deelnemer een lauwerkrans op het hoofd.

Kinderactiviteiten

Kinderen kunnen een parcours afleggen waarin ze het Griekse alfabet leren, op scherven schrijven, de vierkamp doorlopen en typische Griekse spellen doen.

Dagelijkse bezigheden en proeverijen

Doe mee aan typische oud Griekse bezigheden, zoals spinnen en weven voor het Grieks Huis. U kunt zich tegoed doen aan o.a. vijgen, granaatappels en ‘paardenbloemsalade’.

ΤΕΝΤ Αcademy Awards

H πλατφόρμα μοντέρνας τέχνης ΤΕΝΤ του Ρόντερνταμ θα παρουσιάσει και φέτος τον Ιούλιο τα TENT Academy Awards. Στο διαγωνισμό για την ανάδειξη του καλύτερου βίντεο θα παρουσιαστούν τα βίντεο, οι ταινίες και τα animation από Ολλανδικές και Ελληνικές Σχολές Καλών Τεχνών. Κατά τη διάρκεια του φεστιβάλ θα παρουσιαστούν τα υποψήφια film καθώς και θα ανακοινωθεί και ο νικητής του διαγωνισμού. Τα υποψήφια βίντεο θα περιοδεύσουν επίσης σε διάφορα φεστιβάλ και ακαδημίες μοντέρνας τέχνης παγκοσμίως.

Από το 2010 ο θεσμός των ΤΕΝΤ Academy Awards έχει εμπλουτιστεί με την συμμετοχή μιας διαφορετικής χώρας. Μετά τη Γερμανία, τις χώρες Benelux και την Τουρκία, φέτος η φιλοξενούμενη χώρα είναι η Ελλάδα. Οι νέοι Έλληνες καλλιτέχνες θα έχουν την ευκαιρία να δείξουν μέσα από την πρωτότυπη δουλειά τους πως βλέπουν το μέλλον τους.

Την κριτική επιτροπή θα αποτελέσουν καλλιτέχνες, κριτικοί τέχνης και καλλιτεχνικοί επιμελητές τόσο από την Ολλανδία, όσο και από άλλες χώρες. 

Τα έργα θα εκτίθενται στο TENT (Witte de Withstraat 50, 3012 BR Rotterdam) από 12 Ιουλίου ως 25 Αυγούστου 2013.

Rotterdam’s modern art platform TENT is presenting this July for one more time the TENT Academy Awards. In the film competition videos, movies and animation from both Dutch and Greek art academies will be shown. During the festival the nominated films will be presented and the winner will be announced. Nominated films will also be shown in various festivals and modern art academies around the world.

Since 2010 a guest country is invited to join the TENT Academy Awards. After Germany, Benelux and Turkey, this year the guest country will be Greece. Young Greek artists will have the chance to show their future expectations via their artwork.

The jury will be composed by artists, art critics and curators from the Netherlands and from other countries as well.

The works will be on exhibition at TENT (Witte de Withstraat 50, 3012 BR Rotterdam) from 12 July to 25 August 2013).

Deze zomer staat in het teken van de beste jonge videokunst van Nederland en gastland Griekenland in de jaarlijkse TENT Academy Awards. Deze filmcompetitie presenteert de top van de eindexamen video’s, films en animaties van Nederlandse en internationale kunstacademies. 

Tijdens de Awardshow in de Rotterdamse bioscoop Cinerama worden de genomineerde films getoond en wordt de winnaar feestelijk bekend gemaakt. Het videowerk van de genomineerden wordt tevens tentoongesteld in TENT en gaat daarna on tour langs verschillende filmfestivals en instellingen voor hedendaagse kunst in Europa. 

Sinds 2010 wordt ieder jaar een gastland uitgenodigd om het beste audiovisuele talent te tonen tijdens de TENT Academy Awards. Voorheen zijn Duitsland, de Benelux en Turkije uitgenodigd deel te nemen aan de competitie.

In een kunstenveld dat onder druk is komen te staan, is het voor TENT belangrijk om jong talent in een relatief moeilijk toegankelijke categorie te ondersteunen. De TENT Academy Awards geeft pas afgestudeerde kunstenaars de kans zich te profileren voor vakdeskundigen, film- en kunstliefhebbers.

Dit jaar worden de werken van de Nederlandse afstuderende kunstenaars samengebracht met werken van jonge kunstenaars uit Griekenland, momenteel een van de brandhaarden van de economische crisis. Hoe kijken startende Griekse kunstenaars aan tegen het leven dat op hen ligt te wachten? De competitie geeft uiteindelijk ook inzicht in wat jonge kunstenaars van hun toekomst verwachten. 

De jury en de scouts worden gevormd door vooraanstaande kunstenaars, curatoren en critici binnen de Nederlandse en internationale kunstwereld. Scouts zullen de eindexamenexposities van de Nederlandse en Griekse kunstacademies bezoeken om zo jong talent te nomineren voor de TENT Academy Awards.

Rebetika in de Ursulinenkapel

Η Μαρια Πλούμη και η Θεοδώρα Αθανασίου θα φέρουν την ρεμπέτικη και την σμυρνέικη παράδοση στο Tilburg. Στις 9 Ιουνίου η Μικρασιατική μουσική θα αναβιώσει στο Ursulinen chapel υπο τους ήχους του μπαγλαμά (Μαρία Πλούμη) και της κιθάρας (Θεοδώρα Αθανασίου). Η βραδιά θα λάβει χώρα στον κήπο του Ursulinen Chapel, ή σε περίπτωση κακοκαιρίας στο εσωτερικό του νεογοτθικού ναού.

Maria Ploumi and Theodora Athanasiou will bring rembetika and smyrneika traditions to Tilburg. At the 9th of June the Greek folk music tradition from Asia Minor will revive in Ursulinenkapel under the sounds of baglamas (Maria Ploumi) and guitar (Theodora Athanasiou). The performance will take place at the Garden of the Ursuline Chapel, or, in case of bad weather inside the Neo-Gothic Chapel.

Zondagmiddag komt Griekenland naar Nederland. In de tuin van de Ursulinenkapel in Tilburg treden Maria Ploumi (ud, baglamas/zang)  en Theodora Athanassiou (gitaar/zang) op met hedendaagse rebétika en smyrneïka, de Griekse Blues. Deze  Griekse zelfkantliederen uit de eerste helft van de vorige eeuw behoren tot de oosterse muzikale traditie.

H Ελληνική Πρεσβεία στην Χάγη παρουσιάζει την έκθεση του Έλληνα καλλιτέχνη Μάικ Πετράκη με τίτλο "The Land of D€MOCRA$¥", με αναφορά στη φυσιογνωμία και στις λειτουργίες της Δημοκρατίας, από καταβολής της έως σήμερα.

Ο καλλιτέχνης στέκεται κριτικά απέναντι στο θεσμό και τοποθετείται σχετικά με τις εκφάνσεις και τις σύγχρονές όψεις του.

H έκθεση είχε παρουσιαστεί στην Πινακοθήκη του Δήμου Κερκυραίων, με μεγάλη επιτυχία και μεταφέρεται εντός των χώρων της Πρεσβείας, όπου ο καλλιτέχνης θα εκθέσει και κάποιες νέες δημιουργίες του αναφορικά με το θέμα. Οι επισκέπτες μπορούν να συμμετέχουν στην έκθεση, γράφοντας και το δικό τους σχόλιο για την Δημοκρατία.

The Embassy of Greece in The Hague presents the exhibition of Greek artist Mike Petrakis entitled "The Land of D€MOCRA$¥", which refers to the institution - concept of Democracy and its functions, since its inception until now.

The artist takes a critical stance towards it and lays his position concerning the facets and contemporary aspects of Democracy.

The exhibition, which was successfully displayed at the Municipal Gallery of Corfu – Greece, is moving to the Embassy of Greece in The Hague, where the artist will also exhibit new works on the same subject. Visitors will have the chance to participate by writing their own message about the concept of Democracy.

Exhibition’s Statement

‘The Land of D€MOCRA$¥’

The LAND of DEMOCRACY, with its remarkable collection of landscapes, invites us, the visitors, to an enjoyable acquaintance with its history. The guide-narrator encourages us to let our minds free to experience the play of IMAGES conjured by CONCEPT-WORDS and to enjoy the world which is built based on this fundamental principle of creation. Let us, thus, get rid ourselves of the temptation for other interpretations and let us seek the Word visually.

This does not mean that we are being "channelled" into one unique interpretation. Besides, at the end of our visit, we will all have the opportunity to present our views and proposals regarding the LAND of DEMOCRACY and its contemporary aspects by writing them on a blank wall at the end of our visit (DEMOCREATION).

All these contributions will form a part of «the heritage for future generations», as the saying goes. So let us all give it a try! In the present statement, we are keeping the original comments by Mike Petrakis, who is the instigator and the stage director of this installation.

1st Chapter

DEMOCRACY: principles... numerous principles talking of equality before the law, of social justice, of contribution to humanity, of peace, of free access to knowledge, of equitable distribution of wealth, of social services. The GARDEN of Eden, the land of FELICITY.

Mike Petrakis: Hoping for a well-balanced function of human society.

2nd Chapter

DEMOCRACY, the land of UTOPIA for European and other western societies. The construction of a renewable system of mirroring, which calls itself «social and economic relations». The good manner of co-existence. The ROAD  towards all kinds of understanding of the many and various ideas, the AVENUE of all kinds of justifications, the felicity of law conformity.

Mike Petrakis: The hypocritical dimension of human relations undermines every democratic institution.

3rd Chapter

DEMOCRACY, the land of political PRETENTION, of elaborate SCREENIN, of the variety of wise men, the dialogue with the still born. The land with the hidden demons of the invisible extermination, the world of sanctification for the victorious. THE LAUREL LEAF of POWER.

Mike Petrakis:  The unwritten moral laws are being trampled upon in favor of individual interests. The ruling power wears the face of emperors, leaders (political, religious) but also of the insatiable masses.

4th Chapter

DEMOCRACY, the land of alleged spirit of fair competition, of the fighters and the champions of vested interest, of the melancholic strolls in the LAND of ADJECTITY of others. The triumph of statistical numbers. The ambient bridge of suicides, of the burned out lifes cells and of the many aphrodisiacs. The contemporary sexist version of domination and its magic self loving mirror.

Mike Petrakis: Their Democracy is nothing more than a nice commercial product and trick. In its play for profits thousands are its victims, fans who are lustfully following it, and most of the time are charred by it.

5th Chapter

DEMOCRACY, the land of the waving recovery, of the causeless but not without roudy panic of the people, all kinds of so called solutions, of the final EXITLESS EXIT given the HISTORY modern societies.

Cutting Edge JazzFestival

Στις 31 Μαΐου και 1 Ιουνίου το Dakota Theatre στη Χάγη θα φιλοξενήσει το πρώτο Cutting Edge JazzFestival. Μεταξύ των ονομάτων που έχουν ήδη επιβεβαιώσει τη συμμετοχή τους (Saskia Laroo Band, Kapok, Reinier Baas & the More Socially Relevant Jazz Music Ensemble, David Golek & Simin Tander) θα συμμετέχει και το τρίο του συνθέτη-πιανίστα Γεώργιου Τσώλη.

Γεννημένος στην Κεφαλονία, ο Γεώργιος Τσώλης έχει εγκατασταθεί από το 2004 στη Χάγη. Σπούδασε Jazz Piano στη Βασιλική Ακαδημία της Χάγης και πρόσφατα κυκλοφόρησε το πρώτο του CD On the Way. Ο κ. Τσώλης έχει πίσω του ήδη μια σχεδόν δεκαετή πορεία και συμμετοχές σε διάφορα φεστιβάλ τόσο στην Ολλανδία όσο και στην Ελλάδα (Κalomoiris Festival, Papaioanou Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Kalamata Jazz Festival). Στη 1 Ιουνίου στη Χάγη, ο Γεώργιος Τσώλης συνοδευόμενος από τους Maciej Domaradzki  (κοντραμπάσο) και Owen Hart Jr (ντράμς) θα παρουσιάσει την μουσική του στο κοινό της Ολλανδίας.

On 31 May and 1st of June the Dakota Theater in Den Haag will host the first Cutting Edge Jazz Festival. Among the musicians that have already confirmed their participation (Saskia Laroo Band, Kapok, Reinier Baas & the More Socially Relevant Jazz Music Ensemble, David Golek & Simin Tander) there is also the group of Greek composer and pianist Georgios Tsolis.

Born in Kefalonia, Greece, Georgios Tsolis has settled in Den Haag since 2004. He took his bachelor and master studies in Jazz Piano at the Royal Conservatory and recently released his debut album On the Way. Having almost ten years of music career and appearances in various festivals (Κalomoiris Festival, Papaioanou Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Kalamata Jazz Festival), Georgios Tsolis along with Maciej Domaradzki (double bass) and Owen Hart Jr (drums) will perform their music on 1 June .



Theater Dakota is het toneel van een verrassend en nieuw jazzfestival in Den Haag. Op vrijdag 31 mei en zaterdag 1 juni vindt de eerste editie van het Cutting Edge Jazzfestival plaats. Met véél muziek (van hardbop tot geïmproviseerde muziek en van wereldmuziek tot soul en funk), jazzfilms en workshops richt het zich op een breed publiek. Het Cutting Edge Jazzfestival is een uniek evenement op een bijzondere locatie in Den Haag en een initiatief van Stichting ProJazz in samenwerking met Theater Dakota.
